With less than a month remaining until the IFA Men's World Cup 2019 kicks off in Jiangmen, China, the countdown is well and truly underway. One country that will appear at an IFA World Cup event for the first time is Nepal. And they couldn't be more excited.
Despite bordering host nation China, it is definitely not a short trip from their Southern Asia base, as they head 1,800 miles west to Jiangmen. However, it's a journey they are relishing, as they prepare for the team's biggest tournament yet.
Team manager Binod said: "It is an honour to represent our country at such a big event. We have played in three international tournaments so far under Sajan Maharjan's captaincy, however this will be the most prestigious yet."
"Our team is young and energetic, with four players still in their teens. We hope to make everyone back in Nepal proud, with reaching the semi-finals our target."
"We are eager to meet other futsal fanatics from across the globe and create new relationships. This event will give futsal excellent exposure in our country and around the world, which can only be a good thing. We can't wait to get started."
